in which i apply the wise words of mr. george feeny to the dialogue on four very different television shows:  gilmore girls, justified, sherlock, and friday night lights.  

i start off talking about theories of dialogue, and i end by crying over coach taylor’s oratorical skills and tim riggins livin’ large in texas forever.

also includes lots of discussion about sherlock’s dramatic and casual moments of dialogue, mycroft’s even more formal and dramatic speeches, and the anchoring affect of john watson’s more normal diction.  

we’ve also got mags bennett, raylan givens, and poor loretta.  and “a film by kirk.”  

this may be the strangest cross-section of television shows ever collected in one blog post.  come check it out.  

okay i haven’t even read the full post yet but i was taken in by the very first sentence

having read it, i can now say that that was Good to Read (though i’ve only seen sherlock and gilmore girls, not fnl or justified)
